It is rumored that pregnancy woman and individuals with epilepsy should stay away from aromatherapy. However, there is nothing to substantiate the claims that aromatherapy can be harmful for you. Those who use aromatherapy fully believe in its healing powers.
There is also a debate about aromatherapy products being safe for children and pets. Some aromatherapy products may be too strong for small children. Parents often use it to help them feel better from illnesses. Place only one or two drops in the bath tub or a vaporizer to help your child fight off an infection, cold, or the flu. It is not recommended to use aromatherapy on your pets or place it in the air around your pets. Cats can absorb aromatherapy products into their bloodstream resulting in damage to their liver.
Make sure any aromatherapy products you purchase are 100% natural to reap the full benefits of them. Many retailers sell aromatherapy products with artificial ingredients in them. If the product isn’t labeled with the ingredients being all natural then you are better off purchasing a different aromatherapy product. You can also choose to make your own aromatherapy products at home. You can purchase the basic ingredients at an aromatherapy store, health store, herbalist, or on the internet. Make sure all the ingredients you purchase are 100% natural.
It is best to get an aromatherapy book for aromatic and therapeutic blending. Use only the specified amount of each aromatherapy oil. It is not a good idea to mix them on your own creative ideas because some aromatherapy oils don’t work well together.
